Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and S4 Zoom Launched in India

Samsung has added two more new handsets to its ever growing Galaxy list – the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini , the smaller version of the S4 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom soons after its launch in other nations. The S4 mini is a trimmed down variant of the Galaxy S4 to make the S4 more popular and get it in more hands. The S4 mini has most of the features of Galaxy S4, but with some specifications are trimmed to bring the price down. The Galaxy S4 Zoom is targeted at a more niche audience who would want the functionality of a full-fledged digital camera and all the phone functionality as well.

The S4 mini is priced at INR 27,900 while the S4 Zoom is priced at INR 29,900. Samsung is also offering free 50 GB Dropbox space and a Flip Cover for S4 Zoom buyers. As an introductory offer, users of Reliance network will get 2GB data free on 3G for three months should they buy either of these phones.

Galaxy S4 Mini has a dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz coupled with 1.5GB of RAM definitely sets the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini off to a decent start. A 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display adorns the face of the S4 Mini. The 4.3-inch screen is larger than that of the iPhone 5, and the whole handset measures in with a smaller yet deeper frame than the Samsung Galaxy S4, at 124.6 x 61.3 x 8.94mm (4.9 x 2.4 x 0.4 inches). The plastic chassis is more fitting to a handset of this pricing and helps to keep the weight low at only 107g (3.8oz).

Galaxy S4 zoom's best-in-class 10x Optical Zoom and a powerful 16MP BSI CMOS Sensor lets the user capture quality images from a distance. Samsung says that this feature makes it only the smartphone in the world with a 10x Optical Zoom.  It pretty much looks like a regular digital camera from the back and the phone is big and heavy, at 208 grams and 15.4 millimeters thick — almost double the thickness of the original Galaxy S4. The World’s Fastest Ship - Incat High Speed Ferry Excels

Australian ferry builder Incat Tasmania’s world first high speed dual-fuel vehicle and passenger ferry is now officially fast with a lightship speed of 58.1 knots - (107.6 kilometres an hour) and a thrill for the designers of the 99 metre high speed vessel Francisco (Incat hull 069).

This is certainly the fastest ship in the world......of course there’s a few speed boats that could surpass 58 knots but nothing that could carry 1000 passengers and 150 cars, and with an enormous duty free shop on board.

Apple's New Mac Pro - The ultimate Machine

The new Apple Mac Pro is muscle through and through, starting with the new-generation Intel Xeon E5 chipset. With configurations offering up to 12 cores of processing power, up to 40GB/s of PCI Express gen 3 bandwidth, and 256-bit-wide floating-point instructions, you’ll never be at a loss for speed.

And at just 9.9 inches tall with a diameter of just 6.6 inches,Apple Mac pro is truly a pro desktop computer that can actually sit on your desk.

Engineered around workstation graphics with dual GPUs, PCI Express-based flash storage, high-performance Thunderbolt 2, new-generation Xeon processors, ultrafast memory, and support for 4K video, the new Apple Mac Pro delivers state-of-the-art performance across the board. That includes a four-channel DDR3 memory controller running at 1866MHz. It delivers up to 60GB/s of memory bandwidth, which means you can fly through even the most compute-intensive tasks in no time.

Not only does Mac Pro feature a state-of-the-art AMD FirePro workstation-class GPU with up to 6GB of dedicated VRAM — it features two of them. With all that power, you’ll be able to do things like seamlessly edit full-resolution 4K video while simultaneously rendering effects in the background — and still have enough power to connect up to three high-resolution 4K displays.

There’s flash storage, and then there’s next-generation PCI Express flash storage. We’re talking storage that’s up to 2.5 times faster than the fastest SATA-based solid-state drive and up to 10 times faster than a 7200-rpm SATA hard drive.

An incredible amount of innovation went into designing a fan system capable of cooling such a high-performance device. Instead of adding extra fans, we engineered a single, larger fan that pulls air upward through a bottom vent. As air passes vertically through the center of the device, it absorbs heat and carries it out the top.

Designed with built‑in Thunderbolt 2, USB 3, Gigabit Ethernet, and HDMI 1.4 ports, Apple Mac Pro sets a new standard in flexible, high-performance expansion.

With Pro you can access your network over three-stream 802.11ac Wi-Fi for the latest in high-speed wireless connectivity. For all your other wireless connections, Mac Pro includes Bluetooth 4.0.

The Price for this new device which will be launched later this year is not yet announced but its going to be on the higher side keeping in mind the things its stuffed with.

The fact that the GPU is not user-replaceable remains a huge issue and has to be addresses for the 3D users who use heavy applications like Maya.

But its got No Optical drive , anyways who uses Optical drive these days..everything is on Cloud !!! The redesign of this new Apple Mac Pro is the most drastic change and hope it is gonna change the way people look at desktops. The price is going to be a key though.

Paypal Galactic : Buying things in Outer Space

PayPal is the boundary and currency agnostic platform, regularly used by 128 million people around the globe. Paypal almost single-handedly created the online payment category and can truly say Paypal have helped change the way the world uses money.

The mobile-payments company on 27th June 2013 morning introduced plans to create a system that will allow space tourists buy things from outer space. A innovative and futuristic approach which looks promising thanks to Virgin Galactic, Space X and a host of other space tourism programs including the Space Hotel that hopes to be in orbit by 2016.

PayPal Galactic initiative was launched live from the SETI Institute, supported by key organizations in the scientific community. This visionary program, spearheaded by PayPal and working with the SETI Institute, aims to bring together leaders in the space industry to work on the big questions around the commercialization of space. These include:

  • What will our standard currency look like in a truly cash-free interplanetary society?
  • How will the banking systems have to adapt?
  • How will risk and fraud management systems need to evolve?
  • What regulations will we have to conform with?
  • How will our customer support need to develop?
The event was live streamed at www.paypal-galactic.com and will be available on demand  at the same location.  A video explaining the initiative is available in HD and standard definition for downloading and sharing immediately at www.paypal-galactic.com

Creating a secure and functional space commerce system won’t be easy but with all the experience Paypal has in commerce space we can with confidence say that Paypal will be front runner in this race whenever it begins.
